Connor's hospital stay

Connor before he got sick

All those tubes and wires!
Sleeping peacefully. Finally! (tubes are out)

The Ground Breaker

Well, here we are breaking into the new age of blogs. We have been home from the hospital for 4 days now and are trying to get back into the swing of things. Connor is doing fantastic. When he was just 2 weeks old, we took him to the ER for having chest retractions. He had been sick for about a week, with lots of congestion and then he started coughing. The doctor said that he was not sick enough to do anything yet. That was on Thursday, and Friday night we took him in. The ER was so full, they had about 10 people in the waiting room. They took us back right away and did an xray. He had pnemonia. He had to get a spinal tap and had 5 attempted IVs put in. At 4:00 the next morning, he stopped breathing and had to have a breathing tube put in. He was life flighted to Phoenix Banner Medical Hospital, where we spent 5 days in the pediatric intensive care unit, while he was in a medically induced coma. Once he was off of the respirator and eating on his own, they transferred us to the pediatric wing, where we spent the next 3 days. It was awful, but things are so much better, and you cant even tell he was sick by looking at him now. He is getting stronger and things are somewhat back to normal. Ariana is doing fantastic. She stayed with grandma during the whole ordeal, and acted like a little angel. Well, sort of. Grandma potty trained her, for which I am extremely greatful. She is talking like crazy now, and can even speak a little spanish (uno, dos, tres, cuatro, cinco, sies) It has been a rough couple of weeks, but things are going great and we will forever appreciate all the fasting and prayers. They helped immensely.
